COMMUNITY LUNCHES
This project continues and expands the pilot project which commenced in February 2024. These lunches provide a subsidised meal for 20 Upper Kiewa Valley residents to socialise and listen to short presentations on services provided throughout the Upper Kiewa Valley and other Alpine Shire locations. In 2026, the project can still be running thanks to AGL Hydro Mount Beauty and Community Bank Mount Beauty & District.

INDIGO 4Ms
An age-friendly guide to living well in the Upper Kiewa Valley Mount Beauty Neighbourhood hosted the launch of some new resources, including an updated guide, brochure and a series of videos featuring two Mount Beauty community members and Dr Laura Zagorski. These resources aim to help older people have better conversations with their health team. Call in to the Centre and grab a guide to fill in before your next physician appointment or just fill in to take stock of how you feel and make your own health plan.

KCC
Keep Calm Committee - Who We Are The concept of the Keep Calm Committee (KCC) was developed in January/February, 2020 after responses from the Community members visiting MBNCI during the 2019/2020 bushfire threat. On 22 January, 2020 Mount Beauty Neighbourhood Centre (MBNCI) conducted two Community feedback sessions, which were commissioned by Alpine Shire, to gather information on how the Kiewa Valley Community felt about the Shire's performance during the bushfire threats.  It was clear that few - if any - people who visited MBNCI had fire plans. Mount Beauty Neighbourhood Centre received funding through Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, resulting in Resilience Consultant, Anne Leadbeater being appointed to work with the MBNCI to help establish a 'fire ready' resilient Community.
