Women in the Men's Shed
An opportunity for the ladies of the community to come down and expand their knowledge and skills with woodwork, tools, and other general maintenance. We are making a chopping board!!!
Four themes to cover all bases:
Plumbing - tap washers, leaking pipes or overflowing gutters
Garden - lawn mower maintenance, tools to have or not to have
Car & mechanics - know about your car or change your tyres/wheels.
Wood work - fix your door hinges, recycle a piece of timber into something beautiful.
The workshops will develop depending on how creative the participants want to be.

Provide First Aid
We have a great service now with delivery of the Apply First Aid Course being offered every month.
On offer is CPR, Refresher and the Full course (Online or pre-work book component required before the day for the Full course).
Also available if needed: Asthma & Anaphylaxis for minimum of 4 participants.
Also a new requirement is to apply for a USI (Unique student identifier) this is an easy process that can be done online.
The Delivery for Staying Alive Provider is to complete a work book or online component before the commencement of a 1 day course for provide First Aid.
Refresher required every 3 years, CPR must be updated every 12 months.

Cost: Provide First Aid $190, Refresher $190, CPR $90,

Snow Sports Training Course
LOCATION: BRIGHT CHALET, 113 Delany Ave, Bright
DATES: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Last week of May 2020
COST: $390 BYO Lunch or Lunch Box Order for Friday & Sunday. Morning and afternoon tea are provided.
The Snow sports training course will enter its 16th consecutive year offering tuition and hands on training to current and prospective employees within the snow sports industry. The course will run over 3 days including 10 key modules and 4 group sessions.
AIM: The course is designed to teach new and prospective employees the skills required to work in a retail and/or rental ski outlet and show a high level of proficiency. For employers, the course accelerates the learning skills of new employees and maximizes their potential in store from day 1.
STRUCTURE: The course is structured to teach the following skills:
Snowboard . - The perfect storm
Hand tuning and repairs.- From Rental to Race!
Boot fitting –Sizes/Widths/Materials for ski and board
Boot fitting – Retail - achieving the fit
Foot beds. – A workshop on building foot beds
Alpine bindings – Retail/ Rental systems
Stone grinding – Structures explained
Textile . - How fabrics work
Rental- set up and systems
Eyewear and Helmets
COST: The cost of the course for 3 days is to be advised. This includes the cost of manuals, workshop equipment and consumables such as foot beds, waxes etc…
This is to paid before commencement of course.
The Bright Chalet has onsite accommodation. The Coach House offers accommodation in town. Both offer very attractive packages for the 3 nights.

Farm Chemical Users
This two day course provides the required training for many Industry Quality Assurance Programs and is necessary to apply for the Victorian Agricultural Chemical Users Permit.
This course will cover:
Determining the need for chemical use
Preparing application/spray plan
Preparing chemical mixes
Calibrating application equipment
Cleaning equipment and complete records
Transport and handle chemicals and biological agents
Store chemicals in the workplace
Record storage details

This short course is designed for people working in the basic operation of chainsaws and Pole saws for basic cross cutting.
The two day course is designed to provide skills in the operation of chainsaws and the promotion of safe working practices for people with limited experience of chainsaws.
Participants will gain skills and knowledge in the following:
Personal protective equipment selection and use
Safety procedures and guidelines
Sharpening and maintaining chainsaws
Cross cutting procedures
Pole saw operations (FWPCOT3228)
Operate and maintain chainsaws (AHCMOM213)
Trim and fell trees (FWPCOT2239)
