Snow Sports Technician Course

​The Snow sports training course will enter its 16th consecutive year offering tuition and hands on training to current and prospective employees within the snow sports industry. The course will run over 3 days including 10 key modules and 4 group sessions. 

 

AIM: The course is designed to teach new and prospective employees the skills required to work in a retail and/or rental ski outlet and show a high level of proficiency. For employers, the course accelerates the learning skills of new employees and maximizes their potential in store from day 1.

An opportunity for the ladies of the community to come down and expand their knowledge and skills with woodwork, tools, and other general maintenance. We are making a chopping board!!!

Four themes to cover all bases:

Plumbing - tap washers, leaking pipes or overflowing gutters

Garden - lawn mower maintenance, tools to have or not to have

Car & mechanics - know about your car or change your tyres/wheels.

Wood work - fix your door hinges, recycle a piece of timber into something beautiful.

The workshops will develop depending on how creative the participants want to be.

Farm Chemical Users

Safe Chemical Users 

This two day course provides the required training for many Industry Quality Assurance Programs and is necessary to apply for the Victorian Agricultural Chemical Users Permit. 

 

This course will cover:

  • Determining the need for chemical use

  • Preparing application/spray plan

  • Preparing chemical mixes

  • Calibrating application equipment

  • Applying chemicals

  • Cleaning equipment and complete records

  • Transport and handle chemicals and biological agents

  • Store chemicals in the workplace

  • Record storage details

Chainsaw Operations

Chainsaw Operations

This short course is designed for people working in the basic operation of chainsaws and Pole saws for basic cross cutting.

The two day course is designed to provide skills in the operation of chainsaws and the promotion of safe working practices for people with limited experience of chainsaws.

Participants will gain skills and knowledge in the following:

  • Chainsaw selection

  • Personal protective equipment selection and use

  • Safety procedures and guidelines

  • Sharpening and maintaining chainsaws

  • Site assessment

  • Cross cutting procedures

  • Pole saw operations (FWPCOT3228)

  • Operate and maintain chainsaws (AHCMOM213)

  • Trim and fell trees (FWPCOT2239)
