It will help you develop the skills and knowledge required for the Responsible Service of Alcohol under state legislation. Any person involved with the service of alcohol, be it staff or volunteer, requires this qualification and improves your chances of finding

employment in the hospitality sector.

Safe Food Handling

SITXFSA001 USE HYGIENIC PRACTICES FOR FOOD SAFETY

This Nationally Accredited course is appropriate for all food handlers within the hospitality and retail industries, and can be any person who either directly or indirectly handles food such as kitchen staff, bar and food and beverage attendants, customer service attendants and front of house personnel. It is also appropriate for anyone handling food at public venue. It provides food handlers with the skills and knowledge required to keep food safe in the workplace and includes hands-on food preparation in a simulated commercial kitchen environment. Fee includes course materials.

Become a food safety supervisor 

Make your way up the hospitality ladder and increase your knowledge of the industry with this Food Safety Supervisor's course. Developed to assist management with the knowledge and skills in designing a food safety program, you'll learn how to implement a food safety plan to be followed up in the workplace (legal requirement for all registered food premises).

 

Requirements:

You must be employed and have completed the SITXFSA001 Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety course to complete this Food Safety Supervisor course.

Up to 2 workplace visits are required.

This unit is part of SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality and a statement of attainment will be issued by The Centre. RTO TOID 4172

 

Tourism

Wodonga TAFE’s new ‘Regional Access Project’ aims to enable students from regional communities to connect into a real time course at Wodonga TAFE in 2021. This pilot project will offer participants the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification with the Certificate III in Tourism SIT30116, along with skills in retail, customer service, RSA, food safety, and more. Course graduates will be well-equipped for a career - whether they choose tourism, or step into another service industry such as hospitality, retail, or small business.

Commencing in February 2021, this initial course will see students able to connect online via Wodonga TAFE’s virtual classroom to engage in classes with students at the TAFE’s McKoy Street campus. Participation for rural remote students in this course will require reliable access to the internet and a computer with current software. Students will be able to connect from their home computer or visit their local Neighbourhood House for access and support to learn online.
